Registration is now open for the Project SWAT (Soil, Water & Agriculture Training) Workshop being held on August 19, 2026, at the Edwin McGee Natural Resource Center in North Wilkesboro, NC.
Project SWAT is a new curriculum currently being developed by North Carolina Soil and Water Conservation Districts to highlight the connections between soil, water, agriculture, and natural resources through hands-on, standards-aligned lessons. This workshop will provide participants the opportunity to experience the lessons firsthand, collaborate with fellow educators, and provide feedback as the curriculum continues to be developed.

The workshop is intended for educators and partners within NCASWCD Areas 2 and 8 (Ashe, Alleghany, Watauga, Avery, Wilkes, Caldwell, Burke, Alexander, Catawba, Yadkin, Surry, Stokes, Forsyth, Davie, Davidson, Iredell, Lincoln, Cleveland, Gaston, Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Stanly, Union, and Rowan Counties), but anyone interested in environmental education is welcome to attend.
Continuing Education Credit is available for both formal and non-formal educators. We are also working to secure Criteria I credit toward North Carolina Environmental Education Certification and will share updates as they become available.
